Abstract

A survey into autobiographical manifestations in the field of virtuality (Blog, Facebook, Second Life, Home Pages) allows us to highlight the basic problems relating to the autobiographical utterance in itself. Through a new reading of the idea of narrative identity and a combination of it with that of "emotionally belonging", which was proposed with reference to the young people's condition, one can verify the hypothesis that such autobiographical practices constitute a sort of enlightening paradigm on the "crisis of the individual", the individual on the one hand tends to stand as a culturally autonomous unit, but on the other he feels, paradoxically, there is a "void of subjectivity".
