Abstract
≪G. Material zur elementaren Gestaltung≫ was published by Hans Richter in Berlin between 1923-1926 and featured a wide array of articles focusing on industrial production and mechanical engineering. At the same time, though, the frequent emphasis on the concept of "Gestaltung" shows that romantic roots in terms of a vitalistic idealism also played an important role in this modernist magazine, as the search of a universal and primary principle in the arts by the members of the so-called "G.Gruppe "clearly shows. Hans Richter's first abstract films, based on the principles of visual perception, can also be considered as the result of a similar belief and show a clear affinity with the contemporary research of the Gestalt school of psychology.
