Abstract
The article, written by a Renaissance art expert, exegete expert and restorer of Michelangelo's work, suggests a methodological process for recognising Michelangelo's signature in the statues of the Tomb of Pope Julius II at S. Pietro in Vincoli church in Rome. Through reconnaissance and examination of the tool marks left on the stone, artwork creation modes investigation methods could be applied. Used only for paintings until now, these methods are also very important for obtaining a better and more complete understanding of each artist's signature.
