Abstract
Ve restoration project of the Church of SS. Annunziata di Arquata del Tronto (Ascoli Piceno) arose during the Design Laboratory of the international Master)s Program in “Architectural restoration and culture of heritageµ during the 2017-2018 academic year in the Department of Architecture of Roma Tre University. With the intention of ensuring the utmost respect of the pre-existing building and the improvement of structural parts that had been deemed unsuitable in the event of an earthquake, work was carried out in order to maintain and refurbish the pre-modern anti-seismic structures by adapting them to current standards. Moreover, where necessary, modern technology and methods were used. Fundamental changes were supported by meticulous research, analysis and study of the current available sources. Vis research led to specific choices and solutions that included maintaining the original planimetry and layout, reusing materials present on site while also integrating any possible gaps with traditional building materials.
