Abstract
Pandemics has definitely shown the importance of a well functioning welfare state. Labor markets characterised by a high degree of precariousness, underfunded health care systems, inadeguate protection of the weakest part of the population have aggravated the effects of the epidemics. The strenghthening of the welfare state, associated with new economic policies, is necessary.
