Abstract
This text singles out the importance of peasant agriculture. It argues that peasant agriculture is distinctively different from entrepreneurial agriculture. It is as present in the Global North as it is in the Global South. The tensions, frictions, contradictions and conflicts between these two forms of agriculture are growing. The text argues that the world has witnessed, over the last decades, processes of depeasantization as well as processes of repeasantization. The latter result in an extension, and strengthening, of peasant agriculture.
