Abstract
Human values are an important issue in social sciences. Over the past 40 years, several studies and surveys have been investigating the values system and its change in the Italian population. Psychological researches and surveys have studied the relationship between individual values system and specific types of activities. Those carried out by sociologists have preferred the study of values' change in the Italian society, investigating the relationships between value orientations and the socio-economic context in which they develop.
