Abstract
After trying to interpret the dynamics of deviance and crime over the Seventies and Eighties, since the Nineties Baratta shifted his attention to two new categories: the "Stato meticcio", in connection with the crisis of the National State, and the androgynous society, in connection with the new gender theories. However, in the background, another category becomes fundamental: that of the human needs. From the criminal matter he passed so to the human matter. In the paper, the author traces the lines of this new run, that the death of Baratta has precociously interrupted.
