Abstract
The paper is dedicated to a general analysis of the structural evolution of the modern capitalistic society and to its influences on the traditional socialist policy. In a first part - already published in "Economia & Lavoro" (2, 2012) - the structural changes of the contemporary society, and the unbelievable ascent of the State in the economic life of the advanced societies joints to the crisis derived in the control of the public expenditures, have been examined. In this second part, on the ground of the developed considerations of the first part, are outlined the main concerns drawn by the above said changes in respect of a socialist policy today, and in which way they have modified and updated the old paradigms and postulates of that policy; and lastly what new ways and visions have been open from these changes. Brief, it is tried of assessing what is alive and what is dead today about the traditional socialist policy, and which issues are suggested as renewed and effective presence of a public programming.
