Abstract

This article is a continuation of an earlier one on Pasolini and Moro, published in the last issue of Psiche. It investigates Leonardo Sciascia’s reflections on the kidnapping and assassination of Aldo Moro. In his book «L’affaire Moro» (1978), Sciascia was among the first to acknowledge the authenticity of the letters of Moro prisoner of the Red Brigades. But Sciascia – also misunderstanding Pasolini’s judgment of Moro – underestimated Moro and did not understand that the latter was a protagonist in a strategy of renewal of Italian politics. This prevented him from taking a broad and balanced view of the whole affair
