Abstract
Crucial components of the identity construction process, identifications constitute a topic that spans various territories, from developmental psychology to defence mechanisms. The topic is approached here from a gender perspective. What role do gender identifications play in the construction and formation of our identity? In order to approach possible answers, certainly not generalisable, I will shed light on two critical experiences in our clinical, social and even legal everyday life: 1) growing up with same-sex parents, 2) being a non-binary teenager
