Abstract
The concept of trans-identifications can be traced back to the multiple zones of the unconscious exchanges between subjects, their environment and their objects. They are all manifestations of a multiple that shows the suffering and the pain connected with ersatz psyche-soma connections and may arise from incomplete maternal mirroring. In the case of transgender and gender-fluid patients, such connections correspond to subjectification paths, to be intended in the sense of a new psychological birth. Such paths are made up by several identity components in touch with each other. Trans-identifications show the role of fluidity, as it may clash with the needs individuals have to find a coherent identity
