Abstract
Psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychotherapists are required to keep secrets on ethical, professional and deontological grounds and, most importantly, to preserve patient’s confidentiality and to safeguard the alliance and the shared therapeutic project. The law requires for the secret to be kept, even though it demands that professionals reveal what they gather during sessions when doing so protects the collectivity from unlawful actions.
