Abstract

This work addresses the measure of Educational Poverty (EP) from the perspective of statistics to map the phenomenon. The contribution offered so far by Italian National Statistical Institute – ISTAT for its definition and measurement is presented. Maps of some dimensions and indicators of PE in 2021 for cities, suburbs, and rural areas of the regions of Italy are also presented based on the data of the ISTAT survey on the Aspects of Daily Life and the data of the ISTAT survey – Ministry of Education on Children and Young People. Finally, we put forward proposals to continue the study of the EP and to finalize the definition of new indicators
