The bill proposing major reforms on the entertainment industry: what will the future of the field be?

Download

Abstract

This paper analyses, after considering the reasons and the issues that have interfered over time with the approval of a general law on the entertainment, the contents of a new bill focused on two main lines: redefining the legal framework of operasymphony foundations and renewing the existing rules on theaters, music, dance, traveling shows, circuses, carnivals and historical reenactments. The purpose is on one hand to intervene on financial arrangements and redefine opera-symphony foundations in terms of organization, and to set up a legislative text named "the performing Arts Code of Entertainment Laws" on the other. This analysis aims at understanding if the new regulation will end unresolved issues in the field and on which further aspects the implementing decrees will be able to make a difference.
