Energy improvement and heritage conservation
Abstract
The attention to the energy efficiency of buildings, which has spread in recent times, questions the compatibility between energy improvement measures and the conservation of cultural buildings. In this regard, regulations have recently been issued in the Italian legal system which seek to introduce energy efficiency measures also for cultural heritage, and which pose problems of compatibility between these regulations and the provisions on protection. It is therefore possible to both evaluate this aspect and the possibility of using renewable energy communities to launch cultural heritage conservation and valorization initiatives. Therefore, the initiative called “Carta di Bresciaµ is particularly interesting, which aims to identify types of interventions compatible with materials and structures of protected historic buildings, in order to imagine new and fruitful developments for an operational integration of the technologically more advanced craftsmanship and more sensitive and aware of historical building techniques.
