Abstract
This Special Issue aims to give continuity to the reflections hosted in recent years on the pages of the Scuola Democratica Journal, publishing contributions that offer insights to the debate on the transformations of the Italian school and university system, understood as a ‘porous’ system whose dynamics of change can now be understood only if placed and interpreted in a European and global educational space. The papers collected in this Special Issue discuss three main focuses that become central to contemporary educational systems in Italy and Europe: educational epistemologies, emerging forms of governance, and emerging forms of subjectivity
