Abstract

This paper starts from a research carried out on young people attending their final year in Marsican high schools aiming at inquiring, on the one hand, into their expectations for the future and, on the other, into their styles of consumption. Along this line, the work stresses the relationship between education level and styles of consumption of young people, as to their typology of school, and cultural capital of their families. Analysis of the data collected, indeed, brought to light interesting differences between students attending academic high school (such as a Liceo) and who attends a technical high school as to specific ways of consumption, as well as the positive connection between parents' education level and the adoption of some cultural and non-cultural fruitional behaviours with regard to the youth.
