Abstract

The article addresses the issues of faculty development in higher education, a practice developed in the United Stated in the mid part of the 20th century,and in particular the existence of teaching learning centers, well established nowadays in the United States and in most of the European countries but Italy. A case study is presented to identify the successful elements for the discussion and implementation of teaching learning centers in Italy. Data was collected from website, face-to-face interviews with teaching learning center coordinators of several French speaking Universities in Switzerland and additional material provided during the interviews.
