Abstract
This article investigates the existential deviation of colonialism, as outlined by the Martiniquan psychiatrist Franz Fanon: transitivism (pyschological) and transient identities (racial), at the same time both pathology and critical inversion of colonialism, reveal a theory which, whilst absolutely part of its time and place, projects itself towards postcolonialism: this is what one can define as Fanon's transitional moment.
