Abstract
The production of evidence-based research and the link between researchers and policy makers is more important than ever, precisely because we are living a process of rapidly changing cities. This paper presents the research trajectory of the author, showing different approaches, and summarizes six empirical results from them. The implication is that bridging the gap between research and public policy is a necessary step to successfully achieve sustainable urban development.
