Abstract

On the occasion of the recent death of the French legal historian Pierre Legendre (1930-2023), this article aims to provide the reader with a brief introduction to his work, highlighting the relevance of his multifaceted research for institutional history. It is followed by the first Italian translation of a text that Legendre dedicated to the École nationale d’administration (Ena), and that can be considered as the epitome of his main research themes: the history of administration, the use of psychoanalytic tools, the critique of contemporary globalised «Management».
