Abstract
In Pascoli's madrigal "La via ferrata", the novel means of communication, the telegraph, mostly represents the symbol of a new form of writing that comes from afar and is triggered by the arrival of a female suffering voice. Hence, the telegraph becomes a harp, an instrument of poetry.
