Abstract
In the face of the modern performance practice of eighteenth-century opera, which nearly always abbreviated the score with a series of cuts, we look at the possibility of intervening on da capo arias. In particular, answers are sought for the following two questions: which arias cannot be eliminated at any cost because of the drama? Which types of intervention can be seen in the eighteenth century?
