Abstract
An increasing number of couples resort to Medically Assisted Procreation (MAP) techniques. Despite the psychological difficulties these couples meet, these difficulties have been still little explored by national scientific research. In the present study, we administered an interview and two graphical-projective instruments (i.e., the Family Coat of Arms and the Double Moon) to 16 couples who were following a MAP program. The aim was to explore these couples’ challenges and resources in connection to couple identity and the redefinition of family boundaries accompanying parenthood desire and its fulfillment (or failure).
