Abstract

This paper starts considering how evaluation research has to be formulated and implemented such as to provide reliable datas about therapeutic programs for drug-addicts. Drug-addiction is a growing and an expensive question and it's time to value the effectiveness of treatments been used till now. It's not an introduction to a standard model of evaluation but just an outline of different evaluation models. In fact it can't afford a standard model because research is too far to provide objective and misurable indicators. It has to be led to the fact that the question itself makes difficult to understand just the following three points: 1) What does "drug-addiction" mean? What its characteristic? 2) What are treatment's characteristics? 3) What does "therapeutic goal" mean? This paper collects what research suggested as significant solutions to these three points. The idea is to adopt a system to analyse how subject's factors and treatment's factors match each other. In conclusion, it quotes the perception of social risk about drug-addiction and how it involves the choice of both, indicators of evaluation and the goal itself of treatments.
