Abstract
In dealing with a recent essay by Riccardo Guastini, this article analyzes the relationships between theories of legal interpretation and theories of meaning, emphasizing how the former presuppose alternative conceptions of how linguistic communication works in the legal domain. In particular, the analysis of the relationship between both families of theories allows one to spot several incoherences which undermine the so-called «moderate skeptical theory of legal interpretation» put forward by Riccardo Guastini.
