Abstract
The essay reconstructs the interpretive path that led to establishing an autonomous constitutional value for the environment under Italian constitutional law starting from the concept of «landscape» in Art. 9 of the Italian Constitution. Subsequently, it examines the assumptions underlying the current version of Environmental Law in the Italian Constitution and identifies critical aspects of it. The essay then surveys the constitutional revision bills currently under proposal and adds a personal proposal for reform. As the essay predicts, a fusion between Environmental Law and Media Law appears likely, albeit not in the near future.
