Abstract

This article explores the notion of religious confession, by analyzing past and more recent doctrinal debates on this subject and the related jurisprudence of the Constitutional court. This analysis also constitutes an excellent starting point for reflection on the Muslim community as a religious confession. The confessional qualities of islam and of its social manifestations are essential to the commencement of negotiations for an agreement with the Italian State.
