Abstract

Like his predecessors, even Pope Francis engaged in the fight against clergy abuse. This paper aims to analyze the reforms introduced by Jorge Bergoglio in canon law of the universal Church, highlighting the strong link between the juridical dimension and the pastoral attitude of a reform intervention that yearns to erase any form of abuse. In Francis’ vision, this process calls into question the whole People of God, but it is particularly demanding towards the ecclesiastical hierarchy.
