Abstract
The essay examines the issue of the emergence of power dynamics in self-employment. Starting from the consideration that power dynamics structurally characterize the employment relationship, the author points out that phenomena like post-Fordism, information technology, globalization and (more recently) the gig economy profoundly changed the ways in which working activities are performed and contributed to the diffusion of power dynamics in self-employment, too. This evolution seems to have been confirmed by the introduction, in 2015, of the so called collaborazioni organizzate dal committente (collaborations organized by the client), which are presented and critically analyzed in the final part of the article
