Abstract
The article proposes a reflection on the issue of sustainable development, understood as development capable of combining the protection of work and the environment. After considering the recent constitutional reform of February 2022, the author focuses in particular on the characteristics of the so-called promotional legislation adopted in implementation of the Green New Deal and the PNRR, i.e. the regulatory acts that affect benefits, financing and opportunities for companies to make economic-organizational choices based on social and environmental sustainability. However, the analysis appears to be disappointing: the author observes that the costs and conditions required of companies do not seem suitable for ensuring the just transition, pointing out the risk for Italy to miss a great opportunity
