Abstract
The essay addresses the relationship between labour and environment from the viewpoint of industrial relations. Once examined the possible approaches to the so-called just transition, the analysis focuses on the contents and potentialities of collective bargaining. In particular, the author distinguishes between collective agreements signed assuming that the productive systems will not undergo structural changes and the ones that are involved in ecological renovation processes. Lastly, the essay examines the possibility that trade unions will promote more radical transformations towards social and environmental justice.
