Abstract
Given the critical environmental context, characterised by the concentration of the population in cities and the escalating climate crisis, this essay looks at the responsibility of cities as places of higher energy consumption and demand. However, due to their capacity for effective legislative action, city choices could be a driver for change in the fight against climate change and social inequalities
