Abstract
The author strikes a balance of the firs application of Act n. 276/2003. Having been the new legislation largely ineffective, he stresses that labour law needs - to be effective - a certain degree of social consensus. In view of the new legislature - starting in spring 2006 - he sketches the possible lines of a new labour politic aiming at establishing "decent" social relationship.
