Abstract

The relationship between law and language is a longstanding issue in the Italian legal system, often leading to believe that law lives in the language we speak; therefore law can not trascends the language, which is the mouthpiece of needs and wishes of society. So, the author seeks for what kind of language the law speaks and, mostly, for the ability of the legal language to represent individuals' gender identity and the professional role they play. The aim of this essay is to focus on the possibility that the gender difference might find a representation in the Italian law and in the labour regulation through legal language.
