Abstract
With the decline of the nation-state, which is a pillar for labour law, a new phase has opened that we call denationalisation of labour law, in which supranational control centres play a growing role on markets and economy. The essay discusses some of the main issues arising from such developments and uses the concept of "subordination" to describe how labour law is conditioned by external factors unrelated to those that have historically contributed to the construction of this branch of law.
