Abstract

Through a short historical analysis, the author takes into consideration the E.B. as a return from union national tradition and individuates its different types, its different functions (formation of workers, market research, assistance to worker and his family etc.), the economic sectors where it's more common to create that office and in particular the positive and negative effects of E.B. on the market. According to the Author there could be some problems to individuate the border between the role of trade union and the functions of E.B. and he underlines that today the legislator is interested in stating the aims, the rules and the limits of that office so as to make it loose his autonomy and became a "bureaucratic" office.
