Abstract

The essay contains some remarks on the consequences of the constitutional reforms of 1999-2001, that introduce the direct elections of the Presidents. as to the «constitutional» organisation of the Regions, In doing so both the effects of the reforms on the relations between the President and the Regional Assemblies and the consequences of the new rules on the evolution of the regional political systems are taken into account. In its second part the essay focuses, also from an historical perspective, on the position of the Regional Law in the system of the sources of the law, and its role in shaping the regional autonomy.
