Abstract
Judgment No. 240/2021, regarding Metropolitan Cities, overrules its precedents which had upheld the legislation instituting these entities. The one under comment is a decision of inadmissibility, but at the same time the Court calls for a comprehensive reform of the metropolitan authorities. The paper highlights how the judicial reasoning is based on questionable arguments. Although the reform of Metropolitan Cities may be welcome and, in some ways, necessary, this judgement denotes a prominence of the Court that needs careful attention
