Abstract

The essay describes the constitutional problem of the extension of the election of the bodies «Libero consorzio» and the «Città metropolitana» in Sicily. The study is inspired by the ruling of the Constitutional Court n. 136 of 2023. The analysis of what is written in the sentence represents the opportunity to carry out an in-depth analysis of a problem that concerns intermediate bodies in Sicily. The constitutional law issues concern the violation of the democratic principle and the violation of the Italian constitution due to failure to comply with state law for the election of the bodies of intermediate bodies.
