Abstract
Previous research concerning ADHD and SLDs’ cognitive profile (assessed through the WISC-IV) found strong internal discrepancies in the profile, with a weakness in Working Memory and Processing Speed Indices, but never examined eventual qualitative differences between the two groups. The present study focused on the Symbol Search subtest, comparing a group of students with SLDs, a group with ADHD symptoms, and a comorbid group. It was found that the latter two groups make a greater number of errors than the SLDs group, and some types of errors are more frequent in the ADHD group and in the comorbid group. Clinical implications are discussed.
