Abstract

This study evaluated the effects of using the labor credits system, in combination with a behavioral contract, on the performance of a work-like activity routine of a 22-year-old young adult with Prader-Willi Syndrome attending a psychology center in northern Italy. A single-subject experimental design with pre-and post-probe was used for the study. The variables measured were conversation preparation with an elderly lady, number of independent interactions, appointment arrangement, and feedback from the conversation partner. Following the intervention, the participant showed improvement in all variables investigated. This improvement is maintained by the participant even in the follow-up session. The results are discussed regarding implications for professional practice and future research perspectives.
