Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the adaptation to pregnancy and parental role in adolescence, presenting an overview of recent researches that have explored the consequences on the development of mother and child. Moving from the survey of the psychosocial costs of early parenthood, in addition, prevention programs that can reduce the initiation into sexual behavior, increase contraceptive use and reduce early pregnancies risk are described, as well as some intervention strategies in support of parenting, aimed at strengthening the safety net in support of teen mothers.
