Abstract
COM Scale/Teachers (Marzocchi, Re e Cornoldi, 2010) has been appreciated for its simplicity and utility in detecting children's behavioral and emotional problems, especially in the case of children with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Two problems with the Scale are that: it does not consider the social aspect and relation with peers even if these are important aspects for an adequate development of children and in particular for students with symptoms or diagnosis of ADHD and it has been standardized for a limited range of ages, from third to fifth grade. The present study proposes a new version, COM-R, including a new scale on social aspects and new indicative normative data obtained on the basis of ratings given by 58 teachers to 1,200 students. The new scale presents good psychometric properties and well discriminates between children with and without ADHD characteristics.
