Abstract
The essay aims to analyze Eugenio Montale’s first volume, paying particular attention to the sound, not so much from the phonetic point of view, but rather by retracing the sounds and silences that build the poetic landscape described by the poet, and which become objective correlatives in the search for the epiphanic miracle. Keywords: Montale, silence and sound rhetoric, metaphysical quest, subject-reality relationship, disillusionment.
