Abstract
The article explores the intertextuality of d'Annunzio, investigating the relationships between the novel with a Venetian setting, the "Fuoco", and the works of some French authors. The work focuses mainly on the text less examined by the critique: "Les courses de levriers" by Alfred de Sauvenière. The exact comparison of the passages has emphasized not only the closeness between the two texts but it has also brought to the light - an even more important point of view - the differences, mainly stylistics, among the model and the remake of d'Annunzio. By doing so, it has enriched, with new tiles, the prosperous mosaic of the references between the works by Gabriele D'Annunzio and the literature on the other side of the Alps.
