Abstract
The article examines the representation of the latin lover through the figure of the Italian actor Jerry Calà. Calà's career reveals a match between the actor's mask and the distinctive cultural codes of an era. Within this paradigm, there is, in some cases, an attempt to go beyond the process of parody. Following these premises, this study aims to provide a short analysis of the latin lover of the 1980s in relation to other representative models of the male figure established in the history of Italian cinematic comedy.
