Abstract

The essay proposes the evaluation of formal variants of the manuscript chosen as the base text for the forthcoming critical edition of Dante’s Comedy. The ms Trivulziano 1080 (Triv), the oldest Florentine witness (1337/38), will be a base text followed more strictly than the Petrocchi edition does and excluding the forms unrelated to the Florentine between 1260 and 1320. Examples are provided in both areas of intervention.
