Abstract

In the present work, the linguistic representation of the concept of ‘future’ in the Hittite language will be investigated, in order to confirm what various ethno-linguistic and cognitive studies have already found, in other linguistic sectors, namely that representation of time – conceptualized as space – emerges linguistically through a series of spatial metaphors which, depending on the language and culture of reference, may involve different points of views, not necessarily coinciding with the deictic Ego
